About Steve Bradshaw

Steve Bradshaw served for eight years on the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners. DeKalb is the fourth largest county in the State of Georgia. He was elected in 2016 winning the primary election with 75% of the vote and the general election with 89% of the vote. In 2020 he won re-election running unopposed. For two years he served as Presiding Officer or Chairman of the Board after being unanimously elected twice by his colleagues. Over the course of his time in office he also served as Chairman of the Finance, Audit and Budget Committee, the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee and the County Operations Committee. During his tenure in office, he consistently delivered for his constituency and for all of DeKalb County.


Prior to entering politics Steve spent over 15 years in the private sector in various operations management and business development positions. His last private sector role was as a Business Development Manager with Delta Global Staffing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Airlines.


Steve started his professional life as a U.S. Army Officer, formally trained as a tank commander. He served in various line in staff roles in both domestic and international assignments, including deployment to the Middle East for the First Persian Gulf War. His last military assignment was as a Leadership Instructor at the Army Officer Candidate School.


After earning a master’s degree in public administration at Georgia State University Steve was afforded the opportunity to teach as an adjunct professor in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, where taught both graduate and undergraduate students.


Steve has been married to his wife Diane for 38 years. He enjoys reading, mostly history and biographies. And he loves watching pro football. His favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has also been a struggling golfer for over 30 years.
